History of Fall-Line Electronics
My name is Willie Walker. In 1992 my personal home in Fort Valley, Georgia was burglarized while I was at work at a local pulp mill. I called an alarm company in Macon to install a burglar alarm at my residence. One day I called the alarm company for service to re-locate a motion sensor in my hallway. While talking to the technician, I mentioned to him that I had a cousin that had recently been burglarized. He told me that if I helped him install it, he would cut the price. At that point I asked my brother (Leward Walker) if he would help. We went to Atlanta to purchase the equipment to do the installation and were very interested and impressed at just how smoothly the installation went. We went on to install about 15-20 alarms under the name of Fall-Line Discount Alarms (the name came from the proposed Fall line Freeway that would be built to connect Columbus, Georgia to Augusta, Georgia).
At a point the technician asked to separate from our newly formed company, and we agreed. My brother and I continued for about a year to install alarms. I received my state low voltage license, attended every low voltage class I could find, seminars, vendor training, etc. so that we would be qualified with the design and installation of security systems. We worked out of my home-office for about seven years while I continued to work full-time at a local pulp mill.
On September 22, 1999 we moved to our present location downtown Fort Valley at 104 Anderson Avenue. Our main focus is security but over the years we added other lines, such as sound, central vacuum, video security and intercoms. In April of 2003, I quit my job at the pulp mill and devoted my full attention to developing Fall-Line Electronics, Inc. into a household name in the Middle Georgia area. Today we service customers within a 50-mile radius of Fort Valley.
